The Historical Truxtun Civic League have several events planned for 2009

 Truxtun Reunion

The Historical Truxtun Civic League's Truxtun Reunion is held on the last Saturday  Of  February each year,, this is the major fund raiser for the civic league. The Theme for 2009 is "We Are Family"  celebrating 90 years of  strong  families who help build a proud community. This event will be held at the Edmonds Center at St Mark Church. In 2009 awards will be presented in honor of                            John Carey,Lucy Overton, Tip Corprew,Hattie Russel and  others.The 2009 inductee into the Truxtun Wall of Fame will be announced,and community worker will be reconized. The  90th Anniversary Celebration 

Truxtun opened as an indepenence township by the United States goverment in may 0f 1919.                       May 22nd-24th the Historical Truxtun Civic League is planning a three day celebration. the events include a reception, parade, a family fun day, and a community open church service featuring a 100 voice community mass choir.  if you would like to be part of the planning or any committe please contact Chester Benton (757) 718-4721. Planning meeting will be held every Monday 7pm starting March16th.

 2nd Annual Truxtun Picnic

This event will be held at the shelter at St Mark Church. it's free and open to public. food games for the kids fun for seniors and more..The date is Sat. July 4th 2009.

The 3rd Annual Christmas Holiday Walk and House Lighting Contest.

Date: December 15th 6p-8p

The walk will start at St. mark Church and walk to Noble Street.  Youth group,community leaders, and Truxtun residents and friends  will sing Christmas songs as they walk down the streets of Truxtun.
